Sabouraud Dextrose Broth (SDB)

Enriched Fungal Broth for Cultivation of Yeasts and Moulds

Product Identification

Chemical & Physical Information

Product Name: Sabouraud Dextrose Broth
Catalogue Number: AS-1343
Medium Type: Enriched liquid culture medium
Form: Dehydrated powder

Product Description

Sabouraud Dextrose Broth (SDB) is a general-purpose, enriched fungal liquid medium formulated for the cultivation, maintenance, and enrichment of yeasts and filamentous moulds. The medium contains a high concentration of dextrose and is adjusted to a slightly acidic pH, creating conditions that favour fungal growth while inhibiting many bacterial contaminants.

SDB is widely used in clinical microbiology, pharmaceutical and cosmetic quality control, food microbiology, and mycological research. It is also specified in pharmacopeial sterility and microbial limit testing, where reliable recovery of fungi is required.

Ausamics Sabouraud Dextrose Broth is supplied as a high-quality dehydrated powder to ensure clarity, reproducibility, and consistent fungal recovery.
