Overview

Tylosin Tartrate is a water-soluble salt form of Tylosin, a naturally occurring macrolide antibiotic produced by Streptomyces fradiae. It exerts its antimicrobial effect by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. Tylosin Tartrate is primarily active against Gram-positive bacteria and select Gram-negative and mycoplasmal organisms.

The tartrate salt form offers superior aqueous solubility compared to the free base, making it particularly suitable for preparation of liquid culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions, and selective agar formulations. AuSaMicS supplies Tylosin Tartrate at research grade (≥ 95% purity) with full batch traceability and Certificate of Analysis.
