Yeast Glucose Chloramphenicol Agar (YGC), Selective Medium for Yeast & Mold Isolation, AS-1381
Yeast Glucose Chloramphenicol Agar (YGC)
Selective Medium for Yeast & Mold Isolation
Selective Medium for Reliable Recovery of Yeasts and Molds
Yeast Glucose Chloramphenicol Agar (YGC) is a selective culture medium designed for the isolation, cultivation, and enumeration of yeasts and molds from food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, water, and environmental samples.
The elevated glucose content supports fungal growth, while chloramphenicol suppresses bacterial contamination, enabling clearer recovery and more accurate fungal counts in routine quality-control and environmental monitoring workflows.
- Selective inhibition of bacteria by chloramphenicol
- Supports broad growth of yeasts and filamentous fungi
- Clear colony development for enumeration
- Reliable for routine QC and compliance testing
- Yeast and mold enumeration in food and beverages
- Pharmaceutical and cosmetic microbial limit testing
- Environmental and water microbiology
- Air and surface fungal monitoring
