🔴 Differentiation Guide
E. coli & Coliforms
Lactose fermentation turns the medium Yellow. TTC reduction results in a Red center.
Non-Coliforms
Organisms that do not ferment lactose produce Blue/Green colonies. Medium remains Blue/Green.

⚗️ Laboratory Prep
- 1 Suspend 56.1g in 1L deionized water.
- 2 Sterilize at 121°C for 15 min. Cool to 45-50°C.
- 3 Aseptically add TTC 1% Solution (3ml per liter).
