A selective, nutrient-rich microbiological culture medium formulated for the cultivation, isolation and enumeration of Lactobacillus species and other lactic acid bacteria (LAB). Suitable for food microbiology, dairy quality control, probiotic research and fermentation studies.
MRS Agar (de Man, Rogosa and Sharpe Agar) is a selective, nutrient-rich medium developed for the cultivation of lactic acid bacteria, particularly Lactobacillus species.
The formulation provides peptides, amino acids, vitamins, carbohydrates, mineral salts and buffering components that support LAB growth while creating conditions less favourable for many competing microorganisms.

| Step 1 | Suspend the recommended quantity of dehydrated MRS Agar in purified water. |
