⚗️ Preparation, Incubation & Interpretation
🧴 Preparation
- Suspend medium in purified water.
- Heat with agitation until fully dissolved.
- Dispense into tubes or flasks.
- Sterilize at 121 °C for 15 minutes.
- Cool before use.
🌡️ Incubation
- Temperature: 35–37 °C
- Duration: 18–24 hours
- Up to 48 hours for slow-growing Salmonella
🔍 Interpretation
- Positive enrichment: turbidity
- Subculture onto XLD, SS, or other selective agar
- No growth suggests absence or suppression of Salmonella
